Studio 1850

Studio 1850

Since moving to Cornwall and setting up my artist consultancy 5 years ago, I haven’t had any time to sit back and consider my own professional development - I haven’t stopped to calibrate and think about the work I do and the value this has for the creative professionals who use my services.

So, having been inspired by a number a number of my clients (and their beautiful social media marketing!) I booked a 1:1 consultancy session with Elaine at Studio 1850 in Redruth. I had no idea what to expect, other than a nice chat with a like-minded soul - but the experience was so much richer. It was like a therapy session - and a much-needed opportunity for me to delve into the nitty gritty of my business and the work I want to do moving forward. I left the session feeling a range emotions - but primarily I am excited about having the opportunity to do what I love, and I’m excited about the projects that will come my way in the future.

In this odd period of post-materinty-leave-back-to-work-haze I have to appreciate that my time is limited and thus the motto I must adhere to is - ‘do less better’.

I also learnt a new word : NUNCHI - The ability to gauge the mood of others, read the atmosphere and react appropriately - which really chimes with how I live, and work. I often feel that this is a burden - i’m too sensitive, but I have re-framed my feelings and I can now see the benefits of this attuned sensibility when it comes to working with artists.

Here’s to the future!
